Heriz and surrounding villages are one of the significant areas in Northwest Iran (Azerbaijan Province) in the handwoven rug tradition. Heriz rugs are very well appreciated in Western and American markets.
The featured antique rug is an authentic Hand knotted Bakhshayesh rug from Azerbaijan province of Persia from1930-1940s. The design features tribal and angular central medallion on plain field and four corners. The color palette on this gorgeous antique rug consists of rustic oranges and ivory on contrasting royal blue in the background (rare blue). The colors of this rug are slightly muted because of the age of the rug.
This collectible piece is exceptional in terms of design and color and it is in full pile (excellent) condition.
