Heriz village is one of the significant places in Northwest Iran (Azerbaijan Province) in the world of handwoven rugs. Heriz rugs are very well appreciated in Western and American markets.
Featured rug is an authentic hand-knotted Antique Heriz rug from Azerbaijan Province of Persia. The design is Caucasian dragon, and it features tribal and angular motives all over the rug and finished with stunning borders. The background color is navy blue with contrasting sage, blue and salmon and terracotta. The use of earthy tones in the field and borders give this stunning piece a unique character. The borders are decorated with admirable abstract floral design. Over all the colors shows a great example of “Abrash” in natural dyes.
