Sofreh is a type of flat-weave rug that is generally used for bread-making, preservation and a spread on the floor to put out for lunch and dinner.
The featured vintage Sofreh is made by Afshar tribe in Persia. The design of this Sofreh features a contrasting central lozenge medallion on a field followed by loose zig-zags in the border. The colour of Sofreh represents desirable Abrash due to the humble vegetable dying vessels of tribal people. Variation of one colour results in stunning stripes. The use of colour in this Sofreh transformed it into a creative piece of art.
This unique vintage Afshar Sofreh could be a perfect addition to any collection. It can be used as a table cloth on the dining table or coffee table.
