Persian saddle bags were handwoven accessories exclusively for practical reasons. The saddlebag is the storage of nomadic tribes while they transport items. In recent times, saddlebags are highly valued by collectors.
The featured saddlebag is made by Esfandaghe Tribe who lives in Kerman Persia. The design features abstract forms of rose flowers so-called “Gole-Farang” (foreign flowers) in the field and finished by stunning borders. She is made from pure wool and natural dyes.
It can be used as a rug on the floor, cushion, bag or wall hanging rug. Backside of the saddlebag is made by kilim rug and joint area of the saddle bag is decorated by colorful geometric design kilim and tassels.
