This is an authentic Tribal Handwoven Bokhara rug made by Turkman tribe in Afghanistan. The Turkmen tribe’s origin is nomadic, but in recent decades they have settled in villages in Afghanistan and near the Persian border. One of the main characteristics of Turkman rugs is wide borders and repeating geometric inner symbols called “Gul”.
This particular vintage rug has full wool pile on wool foundation. This vintage piece is 50-60 years old and in excellent condition. It has all-over Gul design and stunning borders. The colour of the rug is slightly muted due to the age of the rug. It is in excellent condition and could be a nice addition to any interior.
