This is an authentic Handwoven Rug made in Afghanistan. This particular vintage rug has full wool pile on wool foundation. She is around 60 years old and in excellent condition. The field has repeating traditional motifs that are finished with elegant borders. She has an adorable, embroidered stripe kilim attached to the end of the fringes. The main color is tomato red with a touch of green in each motif. The ivory highlights bring out the patterns beautifully. There are color changes within the field called “Abrash” which comes from different batches of wool and organic dyes. This results in stunning stripes of different tones in one color.
